Chamber Chili Challenge
Attorney Terry Hiestand and his wife Anne took their granddaughter Elizabeth Lawson to 1st Annual Tailgate Party sponsored by the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce in honor of the Chesterton High School Homecoming on October 2, 2009. The party was held in the Chamber parking lot Friday afternoon in connection with the Homecoming Parade. As part of the tailgate party, local restaurants competed in the Chamber Chili Challenge. Although the weather was overcast and rainy, the event was well attended by chili aficionados who lined up to taste the recipes of several local restaurants, businesses and organizations.
AC Incorporated Open House
Attorneys Sarah Lawson and David Hiestand attended the Open House hosted by AC Incorporated on September 24, 2009. AC Incorporated is a full-service marketing communications firm that provides its clients with multi-channel, multi-disciplinary, and best-for-business solutions including graphic design, logo development, direct-mail campaigns, print brochures, web site development, strategic internet marketing, and search engine optimization.
Lollipop Kid Jerry Maren Photographs
Hiestand Law Office assistant, Amber, got her picture taken with the Lollipop Kid Jerry Maren. She also traveled to the Land of Oz to have her picture taken with many of the other cast members. Jerry’s character was the green lollipop kid.
PCBA Green Development Celebration
On September 16th, Attorney Sarah Lawson attended the VIP party hosted by the Porter County Builders Association at the Village in Burns Harbor. The Porter County Builders Association sponsored the Nation’s first Green Homes on Parade at the Village from September 18th through September 27th. The Village in Burns Harbor, a neighborhood community in the Town of Burns Harbor, has been recognized as the first national “Green” development under the American National Standard Institute standards used by the National Home Builders Association.
Hosting Lollipop Kid Jerry Maren
The Wizard of Oz Festival is returning to Chesterton this weekend, September 19th and 20th. Hiestand Law Office is sponsoring an autograph session with Lollipop Kid Jerry Maren, one of the original Munchkins, on Friday, September 18th from 2 pm to 4 pm.
For the remainder of the weekend, Terry Hiestand and his wife, Anne Marie, will be hosting the Official Souvenir Shop for the Wizard of Oz Festival at 115 Broadway.
Chesterton/Duneland Chamber Launches New Site
The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce launched its new website this month. The website features a much improved layout and visual impact. Go to the site for information about all of the different events in the Duneland community and the businesses that support the Chamber.
Party in the Park 2009
The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce held its 5th Annual Party in the Park on August 15, 2009. Attorney Sarah Lawson was the chairperson for the event and Hiestand Law Office donated yo-yos to be handed out to the attendees. Over 400 people attended this year’s event. Ruge Meats Catering provided a pulled pork dinner and there was lots of entertainment for both kids and adults. Hiestand Law Office is proud to support such a great community event.
Chamber Hosts New Teacher's Luncheon
Hiestand Law Office sponsored one of the new teachers recognized at the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon for the new teachers in the Duneland School Corporation, which was held on August 13, 2009. All of the new teachers received welcome bags filled with “goodies” donated by Chamber members. Attorney Sarah Lawson attended the event.
Main Street Scooters After 5 Club
The attorneys of Hiestand Law Office attended the After 5 Club hosted by Main Street Scooters on August 12, 2009. Main Street Scooters is located at 310 S. Calumet Road, Chesterton, Indiana and opened for business in 2008.
Duneland Exchange Club's 2009 Frog Hunt
Attorney Sarah Lawson and her husband volunteered at the Duneland Exchange Club’s annual Frog Hunt and Community Picnic held July 18, 2009. The weather was perfect and over 250 people attended the frog hunt. The event raised around $5,000 which will be used to support child abuse prevention efforts and youth programs in the Duneland Community. Hiestand Law Office was proud to be one of the event’s sponsors for the fourth year in a row.
